1-Description/Analysis
2-PRC000634 Contract Amendment 5
Description/Analysis
Issue Detail: City departments have an ongoing need for janitorial supplies, including restroom paper supplies and other cleaning supplies and equipment. The Procurement Division issued Bid No.
EV00000059 with a closing date of August 27, 2019, to competitively solicit suppliers. The City awarded contract PRC000634 to Waxie Sanitary Supply for the citywide purchase of janitorial supplies through Motion No. 2019-0401 on December 3, 2019.
Ongoing analysis of spending trends for these contracts has forecast that the current not-to-exceed (NTE) amount of the contract may be insufficient and should be increased to allow for purchases through the December 31, 2024.
Policy Considerations: The recommendation is consistent with Sacramento City Code Contracts for Goods and Supplies requirements (SCC section 3.56), and Procurement Policy No. AP-4101.
Economic Impacts: None.
File ID: 2024-02005 12/10/2024 Consent Item 13.
Environmental Considerations:
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA): This report concerns administrative activities and governmental fiscal activities that do not constitute a “project” as defined by the CEQA Guidelines Sections 15378(b)(2) and 15378(b)(4) and are not subject to the provisions of CEQA (CEQA Guidelines Section 15060(c)(3)).
Sustainability: The contractors follow the City’s Sustainable Purchasing Policy. Recycled products meet or exceed City and State requirements for sustainability.
Commission/Committee Action: None.
Rationale for Recommendation: Increasing the NTE amount will allow City departments to have a consistent source for these materials until a new contract begins on January 1, 2025.
Financial Considerations: Funding for this contract is included in fiscal year 2024/25 operating budgets and/or capital improvement program budgets of the departments that require these goods.
Local Business Enterprise (LBE): The contractor is not an LBE.
