I am looking to give back and serve the City of Sacramento, and I believe this Board combines my technical skills and abilities in housing advocacy and development with my
interest in serving the City of Sacramento and ensuring safe and effective housing policies and codes at a local level. I see this body as a way for me, a citizen of Sacramento, to bring my housing knowledge and technical expertise of
housing policy and code to the Board and to contribute to housing justice (via the Board and City Code) outside of my professional work. I have been a resident of Sacramento since June 2021, and I am ready to step into more service and leadership roles within the City. I see this body and Board as an appropriate way for me to provide my technical expertise to the "on the ground" issues here in Sacramento.

Currently, I am the Senior Housing Specialist at the
California Coalition for Rural Housing. This is a statewide nonprofit that via legislative and regulatory advocacy,
technical assistance, and leadership development,
advances the housing and community development needs
of rural, tribal, and farmworker communities throughout the state of California. My role focuses on housing finance, leads regulatory advocacy, and focuses on housing policy and code at the state and local level. I have been working at this organization for 3 years, and in this role for 1 year.
Prior to this, I was a T echnical Assistance Programs
Manager, providing technical assistance to rural and tribal communities for housing and community development
projects throughout the state of California. Long story short - most of my professional workday is spent reading rules and regulations, communicating amongst groups with very different interests and ensuring a goal/outcome that
everyone can live with that is in line with the organization's goals. Prior to going to the nonprofit sector, I worked in private consulting, writing 6th Cycle Housing Elements and providing grant administration (primarily CDBG and ARPA funding) for non entitlement jurisdictions throughout the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California. I was in this role for 1.5 years. Prior to this, I lived out of state and worked in affordable housing development - both new and rehab
properties. I provided pre and post development consulting services for small developers in the states of Kentucky and West Virginia, and assisted them in utilizing mixed sources of funding.
