Issue Detail: Prior to forwarding nominations to the Mayor and Council for confirmation of appointment, the Personnel and Public Employees Committee conducts interviews of applicants for open board and commission positions.
Policy Considerations: Members are appointed in the manner provided by the Charter of the City of Sacramento for the appointment of members of City boards, commissions, and agencies.

Rationale for Recommendation: When a position on a City board or commission becomes available through term expiration or resignation, the Office of the City Clerk conducts a recruitment for interested parties. When the application period has closed, the Personnel and Public Employees Committee conducts interviews of the applicants and forwards nominations to the Mayor for appointment. The appointment is then confirmed by the whole council.

I actively volunteer daily at my family’s at-home daycare business (Anne & Claire’s Daycare) for several years and have worked with disabled, autistic, and kids with different ages.

When my family lets me know that a kid with a disability or autism will be attending our daycare, they educate me on how to communicate with them and also give me videos on youtube to watch to teach me how to interact in a manner that makes the child most comfortable.

I often volunteer with kids at the Aquatic Center and help aide them with events through games and food. I also
volunteer with babysitting friends and relatives kids.
