A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DIRECT PURCHASE
OF TWO TOYOTA TACOMA’S, ONE SKID STEER ATTACHMENT, AND ONE SIDEWALK CLEANER WHEREAS, Funds are available in 2944.30.3240-66.5500 to purchase one Toyota Tacoma 4x4 for the Housing and Community Development Division ; and WHEREAS, Funds are available in 5800.50.9110-66.5500 to purchase one Toyota Tacoma 4x2 and on FL24 Flatliner attachment for the Street maintenance Division; and WHEREAS, Funds are available in 5800.50.9068-66.5400 to purchase one side walk cleaner; and WHEREAS, replacing aging vehicles within the City of Salinas’ vehicle fleet supports City’s Council’s Strategic Plan and Goals of “Operational Efficiencies;” and WHEARAS, Staff chose the 2022 Toyota Tacoma from Salinas Toyota at a cost of $38,096.79 for the 4x4 double cab and $29,041.05 for the 4x2; and WHEREAS, Staff chose the 2022 Flatliner FL24 from Keystone Engineering at a cost of $52,550.00 WHEREAS, Staff chose the 2022 Landa ECOS-7000 from Always Under Pressure for a total cost of $43,387.00; and WHEREAS, these purchases may be made directly pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code section 12-27 because the City Council finds that due to the nature of these purchases, including the local and immediate availability of the vehicles at a low cost, low-based bid competition is not likely to serve the best interests of the City, yield the best value to the City, or result in a lower price; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that with respect to the vehicle purchases, the City’s local purchasing preference has been satisfied.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code Section 12-27, the Salinas City Council authorizes the Purchasing Officer to purchase: one 2022 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 truck from Salinas Toyota at a total cost of $38,096.79; one Toyota Tacoma 4x2 from Salinas Toyota at a total cost of $29,041.05; one Flatliner attachment for the Skid Steer from Keystone Engineering at a total cost of $52,550.00; and one ECOS-7000 sidewalk cleaner from Always Under Pressure at a total cost of $43,387.00 PASSED AND APPROVED this 12th day of April, 2022 by the following votes:
