TITLE: PRICE CHANGE TO TWO F-350 CREW CAB TRUCKS APPROVED MARCH 8, 2022 (RESOLUTION NO. 22311 (N.C.S.) RECOMMENDED MOTION:
It is recommended that City Council approve a Resolution authorizing a price increase of $1,095.50 each or $2,185.00 total from Salinas Valley Ford to purchase two new F-350 Crew Cabs previously approved in resolution 22311.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that City Council approve a Resolution authorizing a price increase of $1,095.50 each or $2,185.00 total from Salinas Valley Ford to purchase two new F-350 Crew Cabs previously approved in resolution 22311. The new total cost will be $47,737.30 each.
BACKGROUND:
Public Works Fleet provided Council with a report outlining the need to purchase two F-350 Crew Cabs and One Utility Service truck on March 8, 2022. Council authorized the purchase and approved Resolution number 22311 (N.C.S.).
The quote dated January 27, 2022 and received on January 31, 2022 was for a total price of $46,644.80. Since approval of the Resolution there was a price increase to $47,737.30 for a difference of $1,095.50 per vehicle. The pricing across all makes and models is fluctuating due to the vehicle markets short supply of both chips and vehicles.
The funds to make up the difference in cost will come from 7120.50.5233-66.5500 totaling $2,185.00.
CEQA CONSIDERATION:
Not a Project. The City of Salinas has determined that the proposed action is not a project as defined by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378).
STRATEGIC PLAN INITIATIVE:
The requested Council action directly relates to Council’s Strategic Plans or Goals of providing “Operational Efficiencies”. The purchase of the vehicle allows the Fleet and Facilities Divisions to maintain the city facilities and allow fleet to have a reliable service truck.
DEPARTMENTAL COORDINATION:
Fleet Maintenance, in coordination with Finance will work to ratify the purchase order.
FISCAL AND SUSTAINABILITY IMPACT:
Funds are appropriated and available the below expenditure account. (7120.50.5233-66.5500).
