RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECT PURCHASE OF
APEX OFFICER TRAINING SIMULATOR SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Apex Officer Training Simulator system provide interactive crisis intervention, de-escalation, and use of force training; and WHEREAS, the Salinas Police Department wishes to purchase the Apex Officer Training Simulator system to increase the ability to provide local training options for Police Officers while maximizing flexibility in scheduling duration and locations; and WHEREAS, the Apex Officer Training Simulator system is a sole-source product and there are no local vendors available; and WHEREAS, the City Council can approve this purchase pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code Section 12-27 (exception to low-bid based competition) in contracting for equipment, materials, supplies and services and pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code 12-28 (local purchasing preference).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Salinas City Council authorizes the direct purchase of the Apex Officer Pro Training Simulator Suite with Hardware Upgrade from Govred Technology, Inc. for a total cost not to exceed $67,500.
