A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE REGIONAL FUNDING AGREEMENT FOR PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE WAYFINDING PROGRAM BETWEEN THE TRANSPORTATION AGENCY FOR MONTEREY COUNTY AND THE CITY OF SALINAS WHEREAS, On May 25, 2016, the Transportation Agency for Monterey County Board of Directors adopted the Regional Pedestrian and Bicyclist Wayfinding Plan for Monterey County and authorized the submission of grant applications to implement the Wayfinding Plan; and WHEREAS, the Transportation Agency for Monterey County developed construction plans for the Regional Wayfinding Program Signs and is now preparing for construction; and WHEREAS, the installation of these signs would be funded by the Transportation Agency for Monterey County; and WHEREAS, The City would agree to pay for costs related to this action, including the issuance of permits, and the maintenance and repair of wayfinding signage within its jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, The Traffic and Transportation Commission voted 6-0 at its June 10, 2021 meeting to recommend to City Council the approval of the Regional Funding Agreement between the Transportation Agency for Monterey County and the City of Salinas; and WHEREAS, the Transportation Agency for Monterey County filed the Notice of Exemption on April 28th, 2016; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby approves the Regional Funding Agreement for Pedestrian and Bicycle Wayfinding Program between the Transportation Agency for Monterey County and the City of Salinas.
