RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF EQUPMENT FROM
TRANSCEND ROBOTICS
WHEREAS, unmanned, remotely piloted, powered ground vehicles such as the Vantage Robot are a valuable de-escalation device during potentially dangerous situations; and WHEREAS, the Salinas Police Department wishes to obtain a Vantage Robot with its expanded range, simplified controls and enhanced climbing capabilities; and WHEREAS, Transcend Robotics is facilitating the donation of a fully loaded Vantage Robot, valued at $25,500, to the Salinas Police Department at no cost to the City; and WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 481 – Military Equipment Funding, Acquisition, and Use, requires the Police Department to obtain approval from the Salinas City Council prior to acquisition of this piece of equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Salinas City Council accepts the donation of a fully loaded Vantage Robot and authorizes the execution of all necessary donation acceptance documents.
