RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECT PURCHASE OF ONE DODGE CHARGER POLICE PURSUIT VEHICLE WHEREAS, the Salinas Police department has funds available and desires to purchase one Dodge Charger Police Pursuit vehicle for use by sworn staff; and WHEREAS, the California Statewide Contract for provision of the Dodge Charger Police Pursuit vehicle, before taxes and fees, is $44,350.00; and WHEREAS, the department is requesting an additional 20% contingency given current market conditions and lack of inventory; and WHEREAS, the City Council can approve this purchase pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code Section 12-27 (exception to low-bid based competition) in contracting for equipment, materials, supplies and services and pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code 12-28 (local purchasing preference).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Salinas City Council authorizes the direct purchase of one Dodge Charger Police Pursuit vehicle for a total cost not to exceed $60,102.79.
