RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SALINAS AND CALIFORNIA CONSERVATION CORPS (CCC) FOR THE BARDIN ROAD SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 9218, FEDERAL PROJECT ATPL-5045(031); AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS PERTAINING TO THE AGREEMENT WHEREAS, City staff applied for funding from the Caltrans Active Transportation Program (ATP) – Cycle 2 in 2018; and WHEREAS, through said grant application, the City committed to coordinating where possible with the California Conservation Corps (CCC) and the Community Conservation Corps to determine their participation for the project’s landscape improvements; and WHEREAS, the California Conservation Corps (CCC), Monterey Bay Center, responded to the City’s request and have confirmed, upon execution of an Agreement, an interest in performing the placement of the five (5) gallon shrubs for the final landscaping of the Bardin Safe Routes to School Project, CIP No. 9218; and WHEREAS, prior to scheduling the CCC for work, the Sponsorship Agreement between CCC and the City of Salinas needs to be in place; and WHEREAS, CCC has estimated the labor limited to the placement of approximately 6,007 five (5) gallon shrubs to be $46,800; and WHEREAS, if the Agreement is executed and the planting work is completed by the CCC, the City will have fulfilled its commitment to utilize the CCC, where possible, per the project’s ATP grant application; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council approves entering into a Sponsor Agreement between the City of Salinas and California Conservation Corps (CCC) for the Bardin Road Safe Routes to School Improvements, Project No. 9218, Federal Project ATPL-5045(031); and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute all documents pertaining to the Agreement.
