RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE FY 2022 URBAN AREAS SECURITY INITIATIVE (UASI) GRANT AWARD IN THE AMOUNT OF $162,000 AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF ALL GRANT ACCEPTANCE DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) Program provides grant funding to government entities to enhance regional terrorism preparedness in major metropolitan areas by developing integrated systems for terrorism prevention, protection, response, and recovery; and WHEREAS, the Salinas Fire Department has identified the need to upgrade the regional Mobile Command and Communications Vehicle (MCCV) to enhance interoperable communications capabilities between the Monterey County Next Generation Emergency Network (NGEN) and the Bay Area Regional Interoperable Communications System (BARICS); and WHEREAS, the Salinas Fire Department has applied for and received grant funding in the amount of $162,000; and WHEREAS, the Salinas City Council authorizes the City Manager or his designee to accept funding in the amount of $162,000, as administered by the City, and further authorizes the signing of all grant acceptance documents; and WHEREAS, this authorization shall include all aspects of program operation including any amendments, extensions, renewals, or further funding for this program provided funding is made available by UASI.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes the City Manager or designee to accept the Urban Area Security Initiative grant award and execute all required agreements and related documents necessary to receive the funds.
