RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE FY 2021 ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT AWARD AND APPROPRIATING REQUIRED LOCAL MATCH FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program provides funding directly to fire departments and other organizations for the purpose of protecting the health and safety of the public and first responder personnel against fire and fire-related hazards; and, WHEREAS, the Salinas Fire Department applied for and was granted the FY 2021 Assistance to Firefighters Grant in the amount of $29,225.37, for the procurement of 5 QRAE3 gas exposure monitors; and WHEREAS, the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program requires a local match of 10%, totaling $2,922.54 to be appropriated to fund 3115; and, WHEREAS, the Salinas City Council authorizes the City Manager or his designee to accept funding in the amount of $29,225.37 as administered by the City, and further authorizes the signing of all grant acceptance documents; and, WHEREAS, this authorization shall include all aspects of program operation including any amendments, extensions, renewals, or further funding for this program provided funding is made available by FEMA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Salinas City Council authorizes the City Manager or designee to accept the FY 2021 Assistance to Firefighters grant award, appropriate the 10% local funds match required to the Assistance to Firefighters Fund, and execute all required agreements and related documents necessary to receive the funds.
