A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SALINAS CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT 1 TO THE FY 2022-2023 AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES WITH TINA LA PERLE WHEREAS, on July 1, 2022, the City of Salinas (City) entered into a FY 2022-2023 Agreement for Professional Services with Tina La Perle to provide homeless services coordination, project management, street outreach and other tasks related to the implementation of best practices; and WHEREAS, the current FY 2022-2023 Agreement for Professional Services with Tina La Perle has a term is from July 1, 2022 to October 31, 2023, with a total compensation of $51,000; and WHEREAS, Ms. La Perle’s professional services and expertise have been instrumental in assisting the City to implement best practices, identify effective outreach and referral services, apply for new funding sources, and identify vital, safe practices to house and protect vulnerable, unhoused City residents to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic; and WHEREAS, the City intends to finalize a job description and initiate a formal recruitment to hire and onboard a new Homeless Services Manager no later than December 31, 2022; and WHEREAS, an Amendment to the FY 2022-2023 Agreement is required to allow for an extension of the Agreement term through to December 31, 2022 and an increase of $20,000 to the total not to exceed compensation amount to $71,000; and WHEREAS, currently unallocated HUD ESG Covid funds will support the $20,000 increase in the Agreement’s total compensation amount; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes and directs the City Manager or designee to execute Amendment 1 to the FY 2022-2023 Agreement for Professional Services with Tina La Perle to extend the term through to December 31, 2022 and increase the total not to exceed compensation amount to $71,000; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes an increase of $20,000 to the General Ledger account 2943.30.3240-63.6010, HUD ESG Covid, appropriation and use HUD ESG Covid fund balance for Amendment 1 to the FY 2022-2023 Agreement for Professional Services with Tina La Perle.
