RESOLUTION NO. 22022 (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF THE MONTEREY STREET
GARAGE MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT WITH LAZ PARKING CALIFORNIA, LLC FOR THREE YEARS AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED $259,186.16 ANNUALLY
WHEREAS, the City is in the process of managing Downtown parking operations to provide sustainable city services in the Downtown Parking District; and
WHEREAS, in 2018 the City conducted a request for proposal (RFP) for the operations of the Monterey Street Parking Garage; and
WHEREAS, in 2018 the City awarded a contract to Laz Parking California, LLC for operations of the Monterey Street Parking Garage expiring in December 31, 2020; and
WHEREAS, Laz Parking has been a partner to the city in the operations of the Monterey Street Parking garage and has been responsive to service needs; and
WHEREAS, because of uncertain parking demand due to the 2020 pandemic, the City negotiated an extension agreement with tiered terms and compensation that anticipates a gradual restoration of activity in downtown.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute a three-year agreement with Laz Parking California, LLC with tiered compensation and terms for an amount not to exceed $259,186.16 annually.
