It is recommended that the City Council approve a Resolution to include the addition of the Homeless Services Manager classification to the Classification – Salary Schedule. The position was added to the approved workforce for the Community Development Department during the FY 22-23 budget process.
BACKGROUND:
The Homeless Services Manager was approved through the FY 22-23 budget process to continue the City’s expansion and development of homeless services as well as the identification and implementation of best practices and the development of meaningful program standards, among other things. The Community Development Department received authorization for a new permanent full-time Homeless Services Manager position to support the tasks and responsibilities currently performed under contract.
CEQA CONSIDERATION:
Not a Project. The City of Salinas has determined that the proposed action is not a project as defined by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378).
STRATEGIC PLAN INITIATIVE:
The proposed action meets the Effective and Culturally Responsive Government Council goal.
DEPARTMENTAL COORDINATION:
The Human Resources Department coordinated this effort with the Community Development and Finance Department through the budget process.
FISCAL AND SUSTAINABILITY IMPACT:
The Homeless Services Manager position was approved through the FY 22-23 budget process. No additional fiscal impact is anticipated.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF SALINAS that the Classification-Salary Schedule previously adopted by the City Council by Resolution is hereby amended to include the classifications of Homeless Services Manager.
