RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
AMENDED AND RESTATED AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SALINAS AND DUDEK FOR THE PREPARATION OF AN URBAN FORESTRY MANAGEMENT WHEREAS, in December 2020 Council authorized a Resolution as required by the Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CalFire) to receive $252,840 in State funds for the Urban Forestry program to be used for preparation of an Urban Forest Management Plan and planting of 300 trees on City properties (Resolution No. 22024); and WHEREAS, CalFire awarded Salinas said funds in an agreement executed February 18, 2021; and WHEREAS, in October 2021 Council approved a Professional Services Agreement between the City of Salinas and Dudek for the preparation of an Urban Forest Master Plan and to accept grant funds from the Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Resolution No. 22234); and WHEREAS, the aforementioned agreement has expired and requires revision to the terms to extend the completion date and by an additional year; and WHEREAS, an Amended and Restated Professional Services Agreement was drafted to reflect these changes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALINAS, that the Amended and Restated Agreement between the City of Salinas and Dudek to for the preparation of an Urban Forest Master Plan update (Project No. 9043) in the amount of $142,800 is hereby approved; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of Salinas is hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City of Salinas, and as its act and deed, to execute the attached Amended and Restated Agreement between the City of Salinas, a Charter City, and Dudek, a California Corporation.
