RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE NAMING REQUEST FOR A ROOM OR AREA AT THE JOHN STEINBECK LIBRARY IN HONOR OF MARLYS MAHER WHEREAS, a naming request application was received to name a soon to be renovated room or area at the John Steinbeck Library in honor of Marlys Maher.; and WHEREAS, Marly Maher was a longtime supporter and an advocate of the Salinas Public Library and her deep commitment to improve Salinas and its children literacy through library use, who passed away in July 2020.; and WHEREAS, through her estate, Marlys bequeathed $297,671.18 to the Salinas Public Library for improvement at John Steinbeck Library.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes a room or area at the John Steinbeck Library be named in honor of Marlys Maher.
