RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL OUTSTANDING CONTRACT CHANGE ORDERS TO PREMIER BUILDERS INC. FOR THE SALINAS FIRE DEPARTEMENT CITY HALL TENANT IMPROVEMENT CIP 9300 WHEREAS, On December 14, 2021, City Council approved Resolution 22266 awarding a construction contract to Premier Builders, Inc. for the Salinas Fire Department City Hall Tenant Improvement, CIP 9300 in the amount of $685,924.00; and WHEREAS, construction of the project commenced on September 13, 2023; and WHEREAS, the project has executed a total of six (6) contract change orders, totaling $183,244.00; and WHEREAS, Department Policy 75-1 (Resolution No. 21528), states all contract change orders above $100,000 or above 10% of the contract amount require Council approval; and WHEREAS, the project has expended the 10% construction contingency authorized per Resolution 22266.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute all outstanding contract change orders to Premier Builders Inc. for the Salinas Fire Department City Hall Tenant Improvement, CIP 9300, above the 10% construction contingencies; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute all necessary contract change orders up to an additional 6.5% of the original contract price amounting to approximately $45,000 to complete the project.
