A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING GRANT TO SUPPORT THE SALINAS POLICE INTEGRATED TECHNOLOGY FOR COMMUNITY SAFETY PROJECT WHEREAS, the Salinas Police Department (SPD) has been awarded Federal Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending funds via a grant to be administered by the Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office), in the amount of $1,165,000.00; and WHEREAS, the grant will fund the implementation of the Salinas Police Integrated Technology for Community Safety Project which will support community and officer safety.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes the acceptance of the Community Project Funding grant funding in the amount of $1,165,000.00 from the Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services and further authorizes the City Manager to execute all grant acceptance documents and to take whatever other actions may be necessary for the City to accept this grant; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes the establishment of the Salinas Police Integrated Technology for Community Safety appropriation of up to $1,165,000.00 and corresponding revenue budget for grant activities.
