RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A $30,000 GRANT TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CALIFORNIA GREEN BUSINESS NETWORK ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SALINAS TO IMPLEMENT THE “GREEN BUSINESS PROGRAM” THROUGHOUT THE CITY WHEREAS, The City of Salinas Strategic Plan identifies Infrastructure and Environmental Sustainability as a key priority for development; and WHEREAS, in support of CalRecycle initiatives including SB 1383, AB 1826, AB 341, and AB 939, with a focus on waste reduction, edible food recovery, organics diversion, recycling, pollution prevention; and WHEREAS, the California Green Business Network grant application procedures require, among other things, an applicant’s governing body to declare by resolution (or letter) certain authorizations related to the administration of California Green Business Network grants; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes the acceptance the “New Community” grant funding and establishment of an appropriation of $30,000 and corresponding revenue budget, to support the Green Business Program in the City of Salinas, to be administered by the California Green Business Network; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager, or their designee is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Salinas all grant documents, including but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments and requests for payment, necessary to secure grant funds and implement the approved grant project; and PASSED AND APPROVED this 21st day of February 2023, by the following vote:
