CONSIDERATION
ID#23-207 Review of Proclamation of Local Emergency related to the March 2023 “Pineapple Express” winter storm event (Salinas Municipal Code section 11A-6)
Received report from City Attorney Christopher Callihan stating that on March 13, 2023, pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code section 11A-6, the City Manager, acting as the Director of Emergency Services, issued a Proclamation of Local Emergency due to the severe winter storm/atmospheric river that occurred on March 12 through March 14, 2023.
Pursuant to section 11A-6, the City Council must ratify the Proclamation within seven days of its issuance and because the conditions that led to the issuance of the Proclamation no longer exist, the City Council is also asked to find that the emergency no longer exists.
Upon motion by Councilmember Rocha, seconded by Councilmember McShane,

Minute Order ratifying the Director of Emergency Services’ Proclamation of Local Emergency dated March 13, 2023, related to the March 2023 “Pineapple Express” winter storm event was approved. The motion carried by the following vote:
