AN AMENDMENT APPROVING AN ADDITIONAL ALLOCATION OF FUNDING FOR THE DIRECT PURCHASE OF ONE 2021 PB LOADER BC-6 WHEREAS, replacing aging vehicles within the City of Salinas’ vehicle fleet supports City’s Council’s Strategic Plan and Goals of “Operational Efficiencies;” and WHEREAS, Staff chose a 2021 Peterbilt PB Loader BC-6 at a cost of $327,040.67 using Sourcewell Contract #052417-PBL from Municipal Maintenance Equipment; and WHEREAS, Staff has received an updated quote with an increase of $7,041.16. Due to product delay, the new equipment is now a model year 2023 and reflects the price increase; and WHEREAS, the city has already approved and encumbered $327,040.67 to purchase this equipment on September 14, 2021; and WHEREAS, the remaining balance of $7,041.16 is appropriated and available in CIP 9030 (Street Maintenance Equipment Replacement) and WHEREAS, City Council has authority to approve this purchase pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code 12-25 Exceptions, “cooperative purchase with other government agencies; and WHEREAS, City Staff recommends the additional expenditure of $7,041.16 be Approved to paid from CIP 9030 (Street Maintenance Equipment Replacement) to purchase the equipment; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes an additional expenditure of up $7,041.16 from Capitol Project 9030 (Street Maintenance Equipment Replacement) to purchase one new 2023 PB Loader BC-6 for a total cost of $334,081.83.
