Dear Mr. Easterling,
It is with great pleasure that SWA submits our proposal for the Alisal Vibrancy Plan - Streetscape Master Plan. We have assembled an outstanding team who will collaborate with the City and stakeholders on this important opportunity to further the ideals of the Alisal Vibrancy Plan for Alisal's major commercial corridors.

SWA is an award-winning landscape architectural firm with over six decades of experience planning and designing memorable, flexible, and sustainable environments. Our firm was the recipient of the 2020 APA California Planning Firm Award of Excellence. Having collaborated with cities for many years, we respect the context in which legacy spaces undergo re-imagining and refurbishment. Through our design contributions for quintessentially American cities, we have developed a broad base of skills in community process, public space planning, and participatory design.

As the Principal in Charge and lead planner, I have worked on public landscape projects focused on resilient interventions and fostering social interactions. Recent work includes a re-imagining of the cultural and civic landscape at China Beach and Aquatic Park, a historic beach park in San Francisco.

Mariana Ricker, Project Manager and Outreach Lead, has managed multiple projects with a significant outreach component including Aquatic Park and Pier (SF), San Jose Parks (San Jose), and SFSU Campus Physical Plan Update (SF). Project Designer, Karla Mendoza Damken brings essential Spanish language capability to our outreach efforts. Joining our team are BKF Engineers (Civil/Survey), Nelson \Nygaard (Transportation), and TBD Consultants (Cost Estimating). Each of the firms are collaborators who bring a wealth of relevant expertise.

Finally, we are a studio-based organization with 60+ years of creativity. We design in groups believing that the best ideas are the result of collaboration, research, and respect. We design with respect for the varying views of others, an eye towards innovation, and a search for solutions. We approach all problems with the same passion, devoid of preconceived notions. As a result, our solutions are built upon the strength of place and the community it supports. We have the people, the tools, and, most importantly, the strong desire to develop and deliver an exceptional, functional, and visionary streetscape Master Plan. We are ready and eager to help shape the future of Alisal.

Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.

Sincerely
fut

Thaddeus Wozniak, PE
Director of Engineering
Thaddeus has more than 16 years of experience in the planning, design, and engineering of transportation projects ranging from feasibility studies to final design. A daily commuter via walking, biking, transit, or a combination of the above, Thaddeus fully understands the importance of providing safe and connected infrastructure for all modes and providing connectivity between modes. Thaddeus is a believer that complete streets planning and design needs to be done at the user level, looking at how a roadway currently operates and how the proposed design will operate for users of each mode. To bring this understanding of the corridor to the project, planners and designers need to experience the corridor through the lens of each mode: as a pedestrian, erson who bikes, transit user, and driver. Thaddeus' goal is to bring his experience as a multimodal use into the planning and design of complete streets.
