RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION OF THE SALINAS CITY COUNCIL APPROVING
approximately 1,000 feet of 90-MINUTE Parking ZONE, 7:00 Am to 6:00 PM, except weekends and Holidays WHEREAS, City Staff received a request from Ray Harrod, the owner of the newly constructed units along the 400 & 500 block on Abbott Street and Alameda Avenue, to install 90-minute parking zone except Sunday designations along the business’ Abbott Street and Alameda Avenue frontage; and WHEREAS, on July 14, 2022, the Traffic and Transportation Commission voted 6-0 to recommend to Council to approve staff’s recommendation of approximately 1,000 feet of 90-minute green zones except Sunday designations to allow for a quick turnaround of parking spaces for customers to have access to businesses located along the 400 & 500 block on Abbott Street and Alameda Avenue; and WHEREAS, on August 9, 2022, City Council approved a Resolution No. 22439 establishing approximately 1,000 feet of 90-minute green zones except Sunday designations to allow for a quick turnaround of parking spaces for customers to have access to businesses located along the 400 & 500 block on Abbott Street and Alameda Avenue; and WHEREAS, on February 21, 2023, City staff received confirmation from Ray Harrod that signs were ready to be installed per the new constructed units project, but noticed that the language of the parking exception on the signs was not what had been originally requested; and WHEREAS, the signs had not yet been installed and staff is recommending the approval of a new sign plan to supersede the original Resolution; and WHEREAS, City staff revised the language on the signs and on March 9, 2023, the Traffic and Transportation Commission voted 6-0 to recommend to Council to approve staff’s recommendation of approximately 1,000 feet of 90-minute parking zone, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, except weekends and holidays designation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council hereby approves approximately 1,000 feet of 90-minute parking zone, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, except weekends and holidays designation along the 400 & 500 block on Abbott Street and Alameda Avenue.
