RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES WITH E & D INDUSTRIAL TRADES, INC DBA ACME PLUMBING TO REPAIR THE SEWER LATERAL AT CITY OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED AT 403 E. ROMIE LANE WHEREAS, the City of Salinas is the owner in fee of 403 E. Romie Lane (APN 002-622-002-000); and WHEREAS, on July 9, 2023, City staff was notified of clogged pipes and internal flooding and upon professional investigation it was determined that the sewer lateral had collapsed; and WHEREAS, the repair of the sewer lateral was deemed an emergency to protect the public safety and prevent further damage to the Property; and WHEREAS, the City solicited repair services from ACME Plumbing to provide emergency repair services for the sewer lateral; and WHEREAS, City Code Section 12-24, allows procurement of services on an emergency basis by the City Manager with subsequent approval by the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City of Salinas has determined that the proposed action is not a project as defined by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378) because the Agreement does not cause a direct or foreseeable indirect physical change on or in the environment. Any subsequent discretionary projects resulting from this action will be assessed for CEQA applicability.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager or designee to enter into an Agreement for Services with E & D Industrial Trades, Inc dba ACME Plumbing for emergency repair of the sewer lateral at City-owned property located at 403 E. Romie Lane for an amount not to exceed $36,040.00.
