A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE DAVID AND LUCILLE PACKARD FOUNDATION FUND OF THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF MONTEREY COUNTY GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $38,000 IN SUPPORT OF THE THRIVING YOUTH STRATEGY AND AUTHORIZE RECEIPT OF FUNDS
WHEREAS, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation Fund of the Community Foundation of Monterey County granted funding in support of the Thriving Youth Strategy in the amount of $38,000, in support of the Learning Center program for Salinas Public Library; and WHEREAS, this grant will continue the establishment of the learning center and homework center program at the library and select schools to provide student supports; and WHEREAS, the Library and Community Services Director or their designee is hereby authorized to take whatever additional action may be necessary to effectuate the intent of this Resolution NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes this funding in the amount of $38,000 from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation Fund of the Community Foundation of Monterey County in support of the Thriving Youth Strategy; and establish an increase of the Learning Center fund appropriation of $38,000 and corresponding revenue budget with no matching funds required.
