A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT AMENDMENT NO. 1 WITH SMITH & ENRIGHT LANDSCAPING, INC. FOR LANDSCAPE AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR CITY PARKS AND FACILITIES WHEREAS, on June 21, 2022, the City Council authorized the City to enter into an Agreement with Smith & Enright Landscaping, Inc. for Landscape Maintenance Services for City parks and facilities in an amount not to exceed $640,251 per year, or $1,920,753 for a three-year term; and WHEREAS, the Agreement for Landscape & Maintenance Services for City parks and facilities provides mowing, edging, trimming, tree pruning, weed control, rodent control removal and disposal of debris and other items of work; and WHEREAS, the park irrigation systems require regular maintenance and annual repairs that can require additional expertise and staffing; and WHEREAS, the City and Smith & Enright Landscape, Inc. wish to Amend the Agreement for Landscape and Maintenance Services for Parks and Facilities to add an additional not to exceed amount of $50,000 per year or $100,000 for the remaining two years of the three-year term for general irrigation repairs as needed; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SALINAS CITY COUNCIL that the Interim City Manager is authorized to execute Agreement Amendment No. 1 with Smith & Enright Landscaping, Inc. increasing the annual not to exceed amount to $690,251 per year for the remaining two years of the three-year term or $2,070,753 for the for the total compensation for the three-year term.
