A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECT PURCHASE
OF TWO TOYOTA TACOMAS
WHEREAS, the Recreation and Parks Division of the Library and Community Services Department desires to purchase two (2) 2023 Toyota Tacoma; and WHEREAS, funds are appropriated and available within the Internal Services Vehicle Replacement account (7121.55.5238-66.5500); and WHEREAS, Staff chose the 2023 Toyota Tacoma 4x2 from Salinas Toyota at a cost of $38,480.73; and WHEREAS, Staff chose the 2023 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 from Salinas Toyota at a cost of $41,149.70; and WHEREAS, the City Council can approve this purchase pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code Section 12-27 (exception to low-bid based competition) in contracting for equipment, materials, supplies and services and pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code 12-27.080 (local purchasing preference).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Salinas City Council authorizes the direct purchase of two (2) new Toyota Tacoma trucks from Salinas Toyota at a total cost not to exceed 79,630.43.
