A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH MIRACLE PLAYSYSTEMS, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT AT DESIGNATED PARK LOCATIONS WHEREAS, on March 11, 2021, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) which provided the City of Salinas with $51,567,313 in relief funds; and WHEREAS, on September 1, 2021, the City Council allocated ARPA funds for a number of governmental service projects, including $2 million dollars for playground structures, park benches and bar-be-que grills, the majority of which was to be spent in the 93905 and 93906 zip codes; and WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into an Agreement with Miracle Playsystems, Inc. in September of 2022; and WHEREAS, additional repairs of playground equipment are needed at designated park location totaling $67,781.29.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SALINAS CITY COUNCIL that the City Manager of Salinas is authorized to negotiate and execute an agreement with Miracle Playsystems, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $67,781.29 for the purchase and installation of playground equipment at designated locations.
