RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE LEASE OF LICENSE PLATE READER (LPR) CAMERAS FROM FLOCK GROUP, INC.
WHEREAS, cameras and License Plate Reader (LPR) technology are useful tools used by police agencies to help solve crimes; and WHEREAS, the Salinas Police Department initially entered into a lease for 20 LPR cameras from Flock Group, Inc. in December 2021, and that lease is due for renewal during the current fiscal year; and WHERAS, the Salinas Police Department can extend the initial lease at the cost of $2,500 per camera per year which is a savings of $500 per camera per year, with the option to add additional cameras at the same reduced cost; and WHEREAS, the Salinas Police Department would like to enter into a 60-month lease for the initial 20 LPR cameras from Flock Group, Inc. to be maintained throughout the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute a 60-month Services Agreement for the lease of 20 LPR cameras from Flock Group, Inc. for a total cost not to exceed $250,000.
