RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CITYWIDE SIDEWALK REPAIR PROJECT PHASE II, CIP NO. 9720 WHEREAS, on October 18, 2022, City Council approved a resolution awarding a citywide sidewalk repair project using a combination of ARPA and local funds; and WHEREAS, staff identified that approximately $5 million in both local and ARPA funds are available for sidewalk repairs; and WHEREAS, the Citywide Sidewalk Repair Project Phase II, CIP No. 9720 is a continuation of the City’s effort to repair and/or rehabilitate sidewalks that are damaged, or in need of repair, and/or make improvements to meet current state or federal ADA requirements; and WHEREAS, Plans and Specifications for the Citywide Sidewalk Repair Project Phase II, CIP 9720, are complete and ready to bid; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer is authorized to extend, revise, or set the bid opening date through an addendum as necessary to meet the required bidding schedule; and WHEREAS, scanned copies of the Bid Proposals (“Bids”) for the above-mentioned work shall be submitted electronically via the PlanetBids website, until 2:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time on the 16th day of January, 2024 at which time or thereafter said bids will be electronically opened, examined and read aloud via Zoom by City Clerk or his/her designee, who shall thereupon report the results of the bidding to the Council of Salinas at a regular meeting of said Council after opening of the bids; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council approves the Plans and Specifications for the Citywide Sidewalk Repair Project Phase II, CIP 9720; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice to bidders inviting sealed proposals for said work for one time in a newspaper of general circulation as required under the law, which notice shall set forth the time and place, when and where bids shall be received, opened and read, and shall further refer to the aforesaid plans and specifications on file in the office of said City Clerk for the contents thereof. It is not required that any other matters be set forth in said published notice to bidders. No other notice shall be required.
