RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION APPROVING DIRECT PURCHASE AND PAYMENT OF ANNUAL SERVICE FEES FOR AXON BODY WORN CAMERAS FOR CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS WHEREAS, the Community Development Department is looking to implement Body Worn Camera (BWC) technology to capture interactions between Code Enforcement Officers and the public; and WHEREAS, Axon Enterprises, Inc. is the primary vendor for body worn camera systems for enforcement agencies and the system has been used by the City’s Police Department since 2015; and WHEREAS, the Community Development Department is requesting authorization to purchase and pay the annual service fees for eight (8) body worn cameras to be used by Code Enforcement Officers; and WHEREAS, the City Council can approve this purchase pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code Section 12-27 and Salinas Municipal Code Section 12-28.080.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Salinas City Council hereby authorizes the Purchasing Officer to complete the direct purchase and payment of annual licensing and service fees to support the purchase of eight body worn cameras for a period of five years, with total costs not to exceed $44,051.73.
