A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE CALIFORNIA LIBRARY LITERACY SERVICES GRANT AWARD IN THE AMOUNT OF $131,697 IN SUPPORT OF ESL ADULT LITERACY, AND AUTHORIZE RECEIPT OF FUNDS WHEREAS, the California Library Literacy Services granted funding in the amount of $64,493 for FY 2024-25 and $67,204 for FY 2025-26 in support of ESL Adult Literacy programs for Salinas Public Library; and WHEREAS, this grant will continue the Library’s ESL Adult Literacy programs and provide greater learning opportunity that matches the needs of our community; and WHEREAS, the Library and Community Services Director or their designee is hereby authorized to take whatever additional action may be necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the receipt of ESL Adult Literacy funds for this grant in the amount of $131,697 and authorizes the establishment of the CLLS – ESL Adult Literacy fund appropriation totaling $131,697 and corresponding revenue budget with no matching funds required; and BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the Interim City Manager or designee to execute all documents related to the City’s acceptance of the grant acceptance documents with the California State Library.
