A motion to rescind Resolution No. 22050 (N.C.S.) and approve a Resolution authorizing the direct purchase of the MBIS Multimodal Expert Workstation from IDEMIA, previously approved via Resolution No. 22050 (N.C.S.), for an updated cost not to exceed $42,607.50.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council to approve a Resolution authorizing the direct purchase of the MBIS Multimodal Expert Workstation from IDEMIA, previously approved via Resolution No. 22050 (N.C.S.), for an updated cost not to exceed $42,607.50.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
On February 16, 2021, City Council approved Resolution No. 22050 (N.C.S.) for the direct purchase of the MBIS Multimodal Expert Workstation from IDEMIA. The total cost of $39,000 was previously approved; however, the total cost did not include sales tax. Thus, we are requesting a new Resolution authorizing the direct purchase for an updated not to exceed cost of $42,607.50.
BACKGROUND:
On February 16, 2021, City Council approved Resolution No. 22050 (N.C.S.) for the direct purchase of the MBIS Multimodal Expert Workstation from IDEMIA. The purchase was delayed as the Department of Justice was engaged in lengthy technology upgrade of the Fingerprint system. The upgrades have now been completed and the new equipment has been delivered. Upon receipt of the invoice, we realize that the sales tax had not been included in the original quote and resulting City Council approved amount.
The original purchasing authorization for the MBIS Multimodal Expert Workstation from IDEMIA was $39,000. The updated cost, including sales tax is $42,607.50. We are requesting that City Council approve a Resolution authorizing the direct purchase of the MBIS Multimodal Expert Workstation from IDEMIA, previously approved via Resolution 22050, for an updated cost not to exceed $42,607.50.
