A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECT PURCHASE OF ONE (1) FIRE ENGINE AND ONE (1) AERIAL LADDER TRUCK FROM PIERCE MANFUFACTURING, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Salinas Fire Department has identified the need to replace aging fire engines and aerial ladder trucks to maintain operational efficiency and ensure public safety; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department has diligently worked to maintain the fire apparatus and vehicle replacement program in accordance with best practices; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the purchase of one (1) fire engine and one (1) aerial ladder truck from Golden State Fire Apparatus, Inc. will fulfill operational needs; and WHEREAS, the total cost of the purchase is not to exceed $2,945,094.88.; and WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $120,094.88 is required to cover the shortfall between the allocated budget and the actual cost of the purchase; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SALINAS CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS:
The City Council hereby authorizes the direct purchase of one (1) fire engine and one (1) aerial ladder truck from Golden State Fire Apparatus, Inc., for a total cost not to exceed $2,945,094.88.
To complete the purchase, the Fire Department will utilize an additional $120,094.88 from CIP 5800.45.9540-66.5500.
The Interim City Manager is hereby authorized to execute any necessary contracts or agreements related to the purchase of the fire apparatus.
