A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SALINAS AND MNS ENGINEERS, INC. FOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR THE BORONDA ROAD CONGESTION RELIEF PROJECT PHASE 1 (CIP 9510) WHEREAS, the Public Works department has identified the need to utilize construction management services to assist the department during the construction phase of the Boronda Road Congestion Relief Phase 1 Project; and WHEREAS, in March 2024, the City of Salinas engaged in a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process to identify firms with the requisite qualifications to provide construction management services, technical inspection, materials and field-testing services, labor compliance, environmental and biological monitoring services, and public outreach; and WHEREAS, on March 28, 2024, Public Works staff received a statement of qualifications from MNS Engineers, Inc.; and WHEREAS, MNS Engineers, Inc. will be partnering with Pacific Crest Engineering, Ingram Group, 360PSM, G7ei, Inc, and Denise Duffy & Associates to provide the full scope of services; and WHEREAS, MNS Engineers, Inc. is well qualified and have the expertise to provide the construction management services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council approves the Professional Services Agreement between the City of Salinas and MNS Engineers, Inc. for construction management services for the Boronda Road Congestion Relief Phase 1 Project for a total amount not to exceed $1,829,248; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Interim City Manager is hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City of Salinas, and as its act and deed, to execute the attached Professional Services Agreement; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim City Manager is authorized to execute extensions and/or modifications to the Agreement and to take any additional action that may be necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution.
