RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A SPONSOR AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SALINAS AND CALIFORNIA CONSERVATION CORPS (CCC) FOR THE URBAN AND COMMUNITY FORESTRY GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, City Council approved Resolution No. 22024 to receive $252,840 in State Funds for the Urban and Community Forest Grant Program; and WHEREAS, through said grant, the City committed to coordinate, where possible, with the California Conservation Corps (CCC) and the Community Conservation Corps to plant 300 trees on City properties; and WHEREAS, the California Conservation Corps (CCC), Monterey Bay Center, responded to the City’s request and have confirmed, upon execution of an Agreement, an interest in performing the planting of 300 trees on City properties; and WHEREAS, prior to scheduling the CCC for work, the Sponsorship Agreement between CCC and the City of Salinas is required; and WHEREAS, CCC has estimated the labor for placement of 300 trees to be $62,400; and WHEREAS, through planting of the trees, the City will have fulfilled its grant commitment to utilize the CCC, where possible as established in the grant requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council approves a Sponsor Agreement between the City of Salinas and California Conservation Corps (CCC) for the Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program in the amount of $62,400; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute all documents pertaining to the Agreement.
