RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION OF THE SALINAS CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT FOR CLOSTER PARK WHEREAS, Closter Park received $6.8 Million from the California Department of Parks and Recreation Office of Grants and Local Services (OGALS); and WHEREAS, on December 13, 2022, the City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) between the City of Salinas and BFS Landscape Architects (BFS) for program and construction management for the Closter Park Improvement Project; and WHEREAS, during the community outreach process community input favored the Landscape Structures playground design and equipment; and WHEREAS, Landscape Structures submitted a Sourcewell proposal for the favored design and equipment totaling $198,593.10; and WHEREAS, in order to bridge the construction cost gap $1,000,000 from Park Irrigation Upgrades in 3911.55.8191 will be reallocated for Closter Park Improvements; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council authorizes the Purchasing Agent to complete the purchase of playground equipment for Closter Park totaling $198,593.10 from Landscape Structures, Inc.; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $1,000,000 from Park Irrigation Upgrades in 3911.55.8191 will be reallocated for Closter Park Improvements.
