As requested by the City, CSG Consultants, Inc. (CSG) is pleased to submit this Proposal to assist the City of Salinas (City) with the following services for the Sherwood Recreation Center Renovation Project located at 940 N. Main Street, Salinas.

Dear Cyril:
This proposal supersedes the previous Add Service #4 submitted in early March 2024.
A. Per the on site landscape presentation on 2/28/2024 by Sara Peschel of Groundworks, we have prepared an additional service to cover the scope of work discussed with the City at that meeting.
1. Proceed with development of the “Native Agrarian” concept plan as presented on 2/28/2024 and based on the limits of work per The City of Salinas’ email of 5/12/2024.
2. Fees for the Landscape services include full design through Construction Administration.
Groundwork’s fee is $15,000.00; MEI is adding an additional $1,600 for principal time to review and coordinate the design with consultants. RPM has added $2,500 for additional curb and sidewalk/paving work.
B. Per additional discussions with CSG and the City of Salinas, in April 2024 regarding the cost model and additional scope, we have modified the original AS#4 proposal to add the following scope changes:
1. Reroofing of the entire Sherwood Rec center; removal of the existing roofing and cover board, gutters and flashing and replacing with new TPO materials, gutters and rainwater leaders. The work will require temporary removal/relocation of existing rooftop mechanical equipment on the west side of the building to allow reroofing activities.
2. Removal of existing wood shingles and replacement with new corrugated metal panels as described in our 50% submittal package which was accepted by the City. Previous Add Service #3 covered the design work to prepare the 50% package; this proposal covers the new detailing work required. Work scope includes removal and reinstallation of exterior HVAC systems to allow the skin work to proceed and also includes adding rigid insulation to the exterior walls.
3. Replacement of the existing fencing with an 8’H vertical picket wrought iron fence and gates. Previous direction was to have an artisanal type fencing which proved to be beyond the City’s budget.
4. Replacement of permeable pavers with permeable concrete on the south side of the facility/yard.
5. Addition of ventilation to the main gym space

PROJECT DETAILS AND SCOPE Groundworks Office Inc. (GWO) has been requested to provide landscape architectural services for the Sherwood Recreation Center (PROJECT). GWO is offering landscape architecture services for Design Development. The project is comprised of exterior and site improvements to an existing recreation facility. The landscape program for the site may consist of at-grade parking, landscape planting, code required ADA access and paving, pedestrian paving, stormwater treatment areas, and other amenities. The site is located at 920 North Main Street in Salinas, California. The site associated with landscape improvements is approximately 3,635 sf and is generally flat. An add-alternate landscape area of approximately 4,560 will be included. GWO will advise and provide design and documentation for the approvals and permitting process, as well as assist the Client with the management and coordination of the landscape scope of work. The Scope of Work to include design and documentation for all landscape areas which include, pedestrian paving, building entry and landscaping in parking areas. The Scope of Work includes, irrigation design, pedestrian paving, site walls, steps, fencing and gates, light fixture selection, landscape grading, site furnishings and all other exterior site elements / features. Deliverables include plans, sections and elevations as required to explain the project to the Owner and the City for approvals and permitting. Exclusions from the scope of work include design and details for roof/building waterproofing and engineering required for all landscape foundations and elements. GWO will provide services generally as described herein, modified as appropriate to support the project team needs. TASK 2 DESIGN DEVELOPMENT (DD) Services To Be Performed o Site lighting design including selection of fixture types and locations of all fixtures. Related electrical engineering will be provided by others. o Confirm and verify coordination between various MEP/FP, civil, structural and architectural drawings. Resolve conflicts. o Define and specify the scope of landscape irrigation. o Coordinate with Civil engineer for final grades and contours. o Prepare final landscape design drawings, include all information required. I had a conversation with Ana and Francisco regarding Additional Services 10, and we need to bring the cost of this services down. We will need to scope down the landscape work from Groundworks to the two areas highlighted below.
With this reduction in scope, I imagine that this is going to be bring down the cost for Groundworks and RPM.
