RESOLUTION NO.____________(N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECT PURCHASE OF ONE TYPE 6 FIRE VEHICLE FROM GOLDEN STATE FIRE APPARATUS, INC.
WHEREAS, the Salinas Fire Department has conducted a comprehensive review of its current fleet and operational requirements; and WHEREAS, the need for a new Type 6 fire vehicle has been identified as crucial for enhancing response capabilities, particularly in wildland and brush firefighting; and WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated funds in FY 23 for the purchase of fire vehicles; and WHEREAS, the total cost to purchase one Type 6 fire vehicle is $411,336.75; and, WHEREAS, the Salinas Fire Department is requesting a 5% contingency of $20,566.84 for a total not to exceed amount of $431,903.59; and, WHEREAS, the purchase will be funded from CIP 5800.45.9540 and CIP 5800.45.9210.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SALINAS CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS that pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code sections 12-25, 12-27, and 12-28.080 the City Council hereby authorizes the Purchasing Officer to complete the direct purchase of one Type 6 fire vehicle from Golden State Fire Apparatus, Inc., for a total cost not to exceed $431,903.59.
