RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SALINAS AND HARRIS AND ASSOCIATES FOR THE SALINAS CREEKS MAINTENANCE AND ENHANCEMENT PLAN WHEREAS, winter storms in 2017 caused heavy erosion and silts deposits at several of the City’s waterways requiring maintenance work; and WHEREAS, specific permits are required for repair or maintenance work in the City waterways; and WHEREAS, on December 22, 2022, the City authorized the initial scope of work for permitting of Natividad and Gabilan Creeks for $85,729 under a Professional Service Agreement; and WHEREAS, the “Salinas Creeks Maintenance and Enhancement Plan” project advanced to the next phase which involved preparation of design plans and completion of the permitting process based on information acquired during the feasibility study; and WHEREAS, on October 24, 2023, the City authorized Amendment 1 to increase the scope of work for permitting of Natividad and Gabilan Creeks by $278,139 to include the additional permitting requirements; and WHEREAS, these same specific permits are also required for maintenance work in Santa Rita Creek; and WHEREAS, Amendment 2 will add additional scope of services of $332,325 and extend the Agreement term to September 1, 2026 to complete permitting for Santa Rita Creek maintenance work and obtain final permits for Gabilan and Natividad creeks.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALINAS, that Amendment No 2 to the Professional Services Agreement between the City of Salinas and Harris and Associates to provide professional services related to the Salinas Creeks Maintenance and Enhancement Plan project for an increase of $332,325 for a revised not to exceed amount $696,193 and extend the term to September 1, 2026, with a period of one (1) one-year annual renewal option is hereby approved; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City of Salinas, and as its act and deed, to execute Amendment No 2 on behalf of the City.
