RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A LETTER OF AGREEMENT FOR THE TEMPORARY DIVERSION OF INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER FROM THE INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY TO M1W USING THE POND 3 PUMP STATION WHEREAS, the ponds at the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Facility (IWTF) have reduced percolation and are coming close to the freeboard limits; and WHEREAS, in order to maintain freeboard, the City requested M1W take water from pond 3 using the pond 3 pump station; and WHEREAS, the City received a letter of agreement for temporary diversion of industrial wastewater from M1W on August 5, 2024; and WHEREAS, the expected cost to M1W for accepting and treatment of the water from pond 3 is estimated to be between $110,000 and $200,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to sign the letter of agreement with W1W for the temporary diversion of industrial wastewater from the IWTF to M1W.
