RESOLUTION NO. 22827 (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SALINAS AND HARRIS AND
ASSOCIATES FOR THE SALINAS CREEKS MAINTENANCE AND ENHANCEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, winter storms in 2017 caused heavy erosion and silts deposits at several of the City’s waterways; and
WHEREAS, to date, neither the Federal Emergency Management Agency nor the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services has approved relief funding to cover the damages; and
WHEREAS, specific permits are required for repair or maintenance work at the locations; and
WHEREAS, on November 19, 2019, the City authorized the initial scope of work under the Master Services Agreement with Harris and Associates to perform the Salinas Creeks Maintenance and Enhancement Plan (Resolution No. 21745) and a portion of the scope of work was continued under a Professional Service Agreement since the Master Service Agreement had expired; and
WHEREAS, the project has now advanced to the next phase which involves preparation of design plans and completion of the permitting process based on information acquired during the feasibility study; and
WHEREAS, City staff has worked with Harris and Associates to develop a scope of work to continue these efforts which is embodied in the Amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALINAS, that Amendment No 1 to the Professional Services Agreement between the City of Salinas and Harris and Associates to provide professional services related to the Salinas Creeks Maintenance and Enhancement Plan project in the amount of $363,868 is hereby approved; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of Salinas is hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City of Salinas, and as its act and deed, to execute the attached Amendment No 1 to the Professional Services Agreement. between the City of Salinas, a Charter City, and Harris and Associates, a California Corporation; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute extensions and/or non-substantial modifications to the Agreement, as necessary.
