RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
SERVER ROOM HVAC CONDENSER UNITS
WHEREAS, Public Works Facilities Division has been working with the IT Manager and the on-call service contractor, Environmental Systems Inc. (ESI) on issues pertaining to City Hall Server room HVAC System; and WHEREAS, on July 25, 2024, the Facilities Division informed the IT Manager that the HVAC condensers are failing; and WHEREAS, replacement of the Condensers is recommended; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 12-27 competitive bidding would further delay ordering and replacing the HVAC Condensers and ESI is the city’s HVAC service contractor and is most intimately familiar with the system; and WHEREAS, The City of Salinas has determined that the proposed action is not a project as defined by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council hereby approves emergency replacement of the Server room HVAC Condensers as part of the existing on-call service contract with ESI for $59,203; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an additional 10% of new contract amount for contingencies in the amount of $5,920.30 is authorized for the Emergency Sever room HVAC Condenser Replacements for a total contract cost not to exceed $65,123.30, with said amount being paid from the General fund, and coming from the updated project, “Adaptations to City Hall/City Facility HVAC”; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents related to the Server Room HVAC Condenser Replacements.
