RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALINAS ACEPTING AND ADROPTNG THE CITY OF SALINAS URBAN FOREST MANAGEMENT PLAN WHEREAS, on December 8, 2020, Council approved Resolution No. 22024 to receive $252,840 in State funds for the Urban Forestry Program from CalFire; and WHEREAS, the Urban Forestry Program requires agencies to prepare and governing boards to adopt, an Urban Forest Management Plan (UFMP) as a guiding policy; and WHEREAS, the UFMP was developed based on analysis of the most current data, input from staff and stakeholders and community input; and WHEREAS, a draft UFMP was released for public review between October 10, 2023 and November 10, 2023; and WHEREAS, the draft UFMP was agendized on February 6, 2024, but pulled due to concerns of inaccuracies. Data has been reviewed and any necessary changes or revisions have been made preparing the UFMP for City Council consideration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council hereby approves this Resolution accepting and adopting the Urban Forest Management Plan and authorizes the Public Works Director and his designees to take whatever additional action is necessary to effectuate the intent of this Resolution.
