A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE CALIFORNIA LIBRARY LITERACY SERVICES GRANT AWARD IN THE AMOUNT OF $216,431 IN SUPPORT OF ADULT LITERACY AND FAMILY LITERACY, AND AUTHORIZE RECEIPT OF FUNDS WHEREAS, the California Library Literacy Services granted funding in the amount of $216,431 in support of Adult and Family Literacy programs for Salinas Public Library; and WHEREAS, this grant will support the Library’s Adult and Family Literacy programs and provide greater learning opportunity that matches the needs of our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the receipt of Adult and Family Literacy funds for this grant in the amount of $216,431 and authorizes the establishment of the CLLS – Adult and Family Literacy fund appropriation totaling $216,431 and corresponding revenue budget with no matching funds required; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute all grant acceptance documents with the California State Library.
