RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE AGREEMENT WITH INDUSTRIAL MACHINE SHOP FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY EMERGENCY PUMP 2 REPAIRS WHEREAS, on September 6, 2024, Pump 2 at the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Facility experienced a terminal failure to the main bearings attached to the impellers on the main shaft; and WHEREAS, Industrial Machine Shop was called for the emergency repair to prevent a health hazard to the Salinas community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code section 12-24, the City Manager entered into an agreement with Industrial Machine Shop to complete the repairs on an emergency basis in order to protect the public’s health and safety which would result from the failure of Pump 2 at the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Facility; and WHEREAS, funds in CIP 9794 were transferred to CIP 9368 to fund the Sediment Removal Project; and WHEREAS, to fund the emergency repairs, $41,000 from CIP 9009 needs to be transferred into CIP 9794.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council ratifies the agreement with Industrial Machine Shop in the amount of $38,243.93 with a 5% contingency for the repair of the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Facility Pump 2; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $41,000 from CIP 9009 be transferred to CIP 9368 to fund the emergency repairs.
