RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SALINAS AND HARRIS AND ASSOCIATES FOR THE SALINAS CREEKS MAINTENANCE AND ENHANCEMENT PLAN WHEREAS, winter storms in 2017 caused heavy erosion and silts deposits at several of the City’s waterways requiring maintenance work; and WHEREAS, specific permits are required for repair or maintenance work in the City waterways; and WHEREAS, on December 22, 2022, the City authorized the initial scope of work for permitting of Natividad and Gabilan Creeks for $85,729 under a Professional Service Agreement; and WHEREAS, the “Salinas Creeks Maintenance and Enhancement Plan” project advanced to the next phase which involved preparation of design plans and completion of the permitting process based on information acquired during the feasibility study; and WHEREAS, on October 24, 2023, the City authorized Amendment 1 to increase the scope of work for permitting of Natividad and Gabilan Creeks by $278,139 to include the additional permitting requirements; and WHEREAS, on August 20, 2024, the City authorized Amendment 2 to increase the scope of work for permitting of Santa Rita Creek by $332,325 and extend the Agreement term to September 2026; and WHEREAS, Amendment 3 will add additional scope of services and increase compensation by $88,221 to complete permitting for Santa Rita, Gabilan and Natividad creeks and revise project plans for upper Natividad creek.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALINAS, that Amendment No 3 to the Professional Services Agreement between the City of Salinas and Harris and Associates to provide professional services related to the Salinas Creeks Maintenance and Enhancement Plan project for an additional amount of $88,221 for a total Agreement amount not to exceed $784,414; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of Salinas is hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City of Salinas, and as its act and deed, to execute the attached Amendment No 3 to the Professional Services Agreement. between the City of Salinas, a Charter City, and Harris and Associates, a California Corporation.
