RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PROCUREMENT OF TECHNOLOGY EQUIPMENT AND UPGRADE/RETROFIT SERVICES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT’S MOBILE COMMAND VEHICLE WHEREAS, the Salinas Police Department’s Mobile Command Vehicle is 19 years old and is in need of modification and upgrade to maintain functionality and ensure the ability to respond to natural disasters and critical incidents; and WHEREAS, the Salinas Police Department has identified funds to support the procurement of technology equipment and upgrade/retrofit services; and WHEREAS, the Mobile Command Vehicle is defined as “Military Equipment” per Assembly Bill 481 (AB 481), thus requires City Council approval prior to procurement of equipment and services which will substantially modify the vehicle.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Salinas City Council authorizes the Purchasing Agent to complete direct purchases and/or execution of Agreements to support the upgrade and retrofit of the Salinas Police Department’s Mobile Command Vehicle as follows:
