A RESOLUTION FOR APPOINTMENTS TO THE SALINAS VALLEY BASIN GROUNDWATER SUSTAINABILITY AGENCY BOARD OF DIRECTORS WHEREAS, the City of Salinas in accordance with the Salinas Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency (SVBGSA) JPA has responsibility for appointing a representative seat and an alternate to represent the City on the JPA Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, the City is also responsible for appointing a California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) regulated water company representative and alternate Board member to serve on the SVGSA Board; and WHEREAS, California Water Services Company (Cal Water) and Alisal Water Corporation (ALCO) are the only two water companies providing service within Salinas and are, therefore, the only two companies eligible for appointment to the Board; and WHEREAS, the representative from ALCO, Tom Adcock, has been serving as the CPUC regulated water company representative to the Board and Brenda Granillo from Cal Water has been serving as the alternate; and WHEREAS, the afore mentioned appointments will expire on June 30, 2025 and thus must be reappointed; and WHEREAS, a representative from Cal Water, Brenda Granillo, has agreed to be the successor representative to the Board and Tom Adcock from ALCO has agreed to be the alternate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the representative from California Water Service Company, Brenda Granillo, be appointed as the CPUC-regulated water company representative to the SVGSA Board of Directors and that the representative from Alisal Water Corporation, Tom Adcock be appointed as the CPUC-regulated water company alternate Board member.
